NAO Cloud

NAO® Cloud is the central platform of the NAO® Suite, designed to manage, supervise and integrate large-scale indoor location and RTLS services. It acts as the control layer that connects infrastructure, location engines and applications, ensuring consistency, performance and security across all Pole Star solutions.

NAO® Cloud orchestrates data flows coming from BLE and Wi-Fi infrastructures and distributes normalized, real-time location data to the different components of the NAO® ecosystem, including NAO® Track, NAO® Mobile, NAO® Viewer and NAO® Flow. It enables organizations and integrators to operate indoor location services reliably across multiple sites and use cases.

Centralized supervision of RTLS infrastructure

NAO® Cloud provides centralized supervision of RTLS and BLE infrastructures, including configuration, monitoring and operational control. It manages communication between network infrastructures (such as Cisco Spaces, HPE Aruba, Fortinet or other BLE-enabled environments) and the NAO® Track location engine, ensuring consistent collection and standardization of BLE signals.

Through a web-based administration interface accessible via NAO® Viewer, teams can manage indoor maps, zones and geofences, monitor beacons, tags and users in real time, and define business rules that drive alerts, notifications or API events. This centralized approach simplifies operations and reduces configuration errors across complex deployments.

Integration and data distribution

NAO® Cloud exposes location data and system events through REST APIs and real-time interfaces (MQTT), allowing seamless integration with third-party systems. Location information can be connected to enterprise platforms such as IoT solutions, ERP, CMMS, EHR, BMS or advanced analytics tools.

By acting as a single integration point, NAO® Cloud avoids technological silos and ensures that indoor location data can be reused consistently across business applications.

Centralized management of indoor location services

NAO® Cloud enables organizations to manage all indoor location services from a single platform. Assets, zones, geofences, alerts, business rules and data flows are configured and monitored centrally, regardless of the site or use case.

This centralized management ensures operational consistency, simplifies multi-site deployments and provides teams with a consolidated view of system performance, both in real time and over time.

Visualization and analytics with NAO® Viewer and NAO® Flow

NAO® Cloud powers the NAO® Viewer and NAO® Flow interfaces, enabling real-time visualization and analysis of people, assets and flows. Teams access interactive maps, dashboards and key indicators that support operational monitoring, incident anticipation and movement analysis.

By combining live data and historical insights, NAO® Cloud helps transform location data into actionable operational intelligence.

Security, reliability and scalability

NAO® Cloud is designed to meet high cybersecurity and reliability requirements. Data exchanges are secured through encrypted communications (SSL/TLS), authenticated APIs and controlled access mechanisms. The platform complies with applicable data protection regulations, including GDPR.

Its scalable, multi-tenant architecture supports large volumes of real-time data and can handle millions of BLE messages per minute across multi-building, multi-site or multi-country deployments. Each organization or partner can operate its own environment independently while benefiting from a supervised and high-performance platform.

For environments requiring full local control, the same capabilities are available through NAO® Server, which can be deployed on-premise or in a private cloud.

Operational efficiency and cost optimization

By automating the collection, processing and distribution of location data, NAO® Cloud reduces manual interventions and simplifies RTLS system maintenance. Operations become more efficient, resources are better utilized and decisions are based on objective data rather than estimations.

This contributes directly to improved productivity and measurable reductions in operating costs across indoor location use cases.

Flexible deployment models

NAO® Cloud supports multiple deployment models to match IT and regulatory constraints:

  • SaaS cloud for rapid deployment and elastic scalability

  • On-premise for sensitive or sovereignty-constrained environments

  • Hybrid to combine local control with cloud scalability

This flexibility allows organizations to deploy indoor location services progressively, from pilot projects to large-scale production environments, while maintaining security, performance and governance.
